On Saturday Trudy had invited us to come to her home in the
country and spend Sunday night. A delightful invitation. It is interesting how
things go. Trudy and I had talked travel at the information booth on Saturday
and her generous invitation to visit her and her husband Steve’s acreage with
all her animals had us all excited. Levi had had such strong pangs of
homesickness on Saturday that this could not have come at a better time.
We wound up hills through a beautiful gum tree forest and came
to her farm nestled in the hills. Steve was outside to introduce us to the herd
– 3 goats, a sheep named Lucy, numerous chickens, the dogs, Lily, Willow and
Sam and of course, T the cat. They boys were smitten. The dogs helps quell some
of the Willisitis.
A walk through the back fields of their property before we left Monday morning.
Lucky chooks to have an orange tree in their pen.
Nate's keen eyes spotted this in the muddy ditch.
Thank you Trudy and Steve for your hospitality and for
showing us your beautiful part of the world.
