Puffing Billy

April 21, 2017

Drove the one hour to Belgrave in the poring rain to ride the Puffing Billy. When we arrived in Belgrave, the rain stopped and the sun came out.

The Puffing Billy railway was built in the state of Victoria in the early 1900s to open up remote areas. It is a beautiful ride through gum trees, lush ferns and farmland. A landslide caused it to close in 1953. Part of the line was reopened as a tourist.

The train was packed on our rainy day. I am sure it is busy every day.

This is the way to ride this train.

It poured rain all the way back to Melbourne. We hit the right time of the day.
