Plettenberg Bay - A beach holiday

April 3 - 6

We had passed through Plett a month earlier, but had only stayed one night. We all agreed this was a place we wanted to come back to just to enjoy the beach. There was enough wave action, and the town was relatively small. The weather was still warm and sunny, even though autumn was near.

Hours of fun on boogie boards and skim boards.
Carman was flooding. Guess the water we were surrounded by was a lot more fun than there!

Luke was interested in cooking fish on the braai. The fish market in Plett was excellent! The lady who managed it was more than enthusiastic to set us up with the right fish for the braai.

The next night we returned to the market with fish and chips in mind. The manager set us up with hake filleted perfectly and coating mix. Luke did an excellent job! The manager was keen to know what we would cook the following night.

The large flock of guinea fowl outside our door are beautiful! They run so fast with chicks in tow.

Nate was merciless at monopoly. His quote, "shall we call it a night?" Jack was more than willing to see the evening come to an end.

We loved this beach town; quiet, country feel. However, we could not help but recognize the extreme discrepancies between populations. We would drive out of our guarded holiday condo and look across the highway into a shanty town. Our privileged life.
